Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is an essential part of treating patients with shortness of breath, dizziness, fatigue, and syncope. Pulmonary Hypertension is caused by multiple different etiologies including connective tissue disorders, liver disease, lung disease, cardiovascular disease, HIV infections and medications. Pulmonary Hypertension also can be due to an unknown cause. Diagnosis of this disorder requires recognition of the symptoms and an organized approach to testing. Drs. David Baratz, Andreas Kyprianou, Da-Wei Liao, and Manoj Mathew have special training and a strong interest in the diagnosis and treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension.

Our physicians work with cardiologists, rheumatologists, and hepatologists to diagnosis and treat this challenging disease state. We have diagnostic testing thru cardiac catheterization, pulmonary function testing and exercise evaluation at all of our offices and at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, and John C. Lincoln Medical Center North Mountain.

Dr. David Baratz is a national expert who was intimately involved in development of the pioneering therapy for treatment of pulmonary hypertension with Intravenous epoprostenol (Flolan). He continues to serve as a national lecturer in the diagnosis and treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. Pulmonary Associates has been involved in many of the pivotal research studies for treatment interventions.

Intravenous, Subcutaneous, Inhaled, and Oral Therapies are now available. Specific treatments and diagnostic testing is available through our Pulmonary Hypertension Program. This disease can now be treated safely and effectively with our latest medications and diagnostic testing.
