Asthma

Asthma is a condition that can start at any age, and symptoms can occur is several different ways like wheezing, coughing, and chest tightness. Symptoms can be caused by a variety of underlying triggers such as allergenic irritants such as pollen or animal dander, chemical irritants like smoke or strong chemical odors, and changes in temperature or humidity.

When you establish care with one of our providers, we will discuss previous your treatments, any testing you may have had, and the severity of your symptoms.  Depending on those answers we may order testing such as complete pulmonary function tests (CPFT’s), imaging such as chest x-rays or CT scans, or blood tests. These tests will help to further classify the severity of your asthma and determine what type of therapy will be most beneficial to your treatment. Medication options may be inhalers, nebulized medication, and in some cases, biologic injectable medications.

We strive to work with our patients to create a care plan to help reduce the severity and frequency of daily symptoms and improve your quality of life.
